Investors in Pupils - School Council

What are School Council, and what do they do?

School Council consists of children in years 3 - 6.  They meet every two weeks to discuss issues brought up in School Council Assemblies, and try their best to resolve these problems.  These assemblies take place once every half term.  Comment boxes are in every year group so that children can put forward their concerns and issues.

Who are 'The Oldies' and what do they do?

'The Oldies' are the previous school council.  They carry out questionnaires and discussions with groups of children to ensure that all children are aware of where the can seek help and guidance on any issues they may come across. They have a good understanding of how the school is run, and ensure that other children are informed of this as well through whole school assemblies for example.  This term they have been looking at roles of adults in the school, finance, and whole school budgeting.  They have undertaken interviews with a range of people, including governors and staff, and feedback this information to their peers.
